Reg-X Named a Chartis RiskTech100® 2027 Disruptor in Regulatory Risk and Reporting

Reg-X Named a 2027 Disruptor

We’re delighted to share that Reg-X has been named a Disruptor in the Regulatory Risk and Reporting category of Chartis Research’s RiskTech100® 2027. RiskTech100 is Chartis’ annual independent study of the major players in risk and compliance technology, so this one means a lot to everyone at Reg-X.

What makes it particularly meaningful is the category. Regulatory risk and reporting is where we spend every working day, helping banks, brokers, asset managers, hedge funds and venues get their trade and transaction reporting right across MiFIR, EMIR, SFTR, CFTC, SEC, MAS, ASIC, FinFrag, REMIT and more.

Getting a report accepted isn’t the same as getting it right

Anyone who has worked in regulatory operations will recognise this. Most reporting processes are designed to get a file accepted. The ARM or trade repository sends back an acknowledgement, the dashboard turns green and everyone moves on. But an acknowledgement only tells you the report passed validation. It doesn’t tell you the report is right.

The errors that really hurt are the ones that sail straight through: an LEI in the right format but for the wrong entity, a price or notional that’s slightly off, buyer and seller swapped, the wrong trading capacity, or a trade that was never reported at all. We call these “valid but wrong” errors. They tend to surface months or even years later, often when a regulator’s data quality review finds them, and by then fixing them means large back reporting exercises, breach notifications and some uncomfortable conversations.

And regulators are looking harder than ever. They increasingly rely on reported data for market surveillance, and they expect firms to show their reporting is accurate, complete and properly controlled, not just on time. EMIR Refit, the MiFIR Review, the CFTC, ASIC and MAS rewrites and the move to REMIT II have all raised the bar, while SFTR and transaction reporting data remain firmly under the microscope. Whatever the regime, more of every report is now under scrutiny.

So why did Chartis recognise Reg-X? We think it comes down to three things.

1. Report right first time

The cheapest error to fix is the one that never reaches the regulator. That idea sits at the heart of everything we build.

Rather than waiting for problems to surface, RegAssure helps firms catch them before submission. RegAssure Accuracy tests every field of every report for valid but wrong errors, checking values against source data and trusted reference data such as FIRDS, GLEIF and ANNA DSB. RegAssure Completeness then makes sure nothing has been missed or duplicated, reconciling front-office records against what was reported and what the ARM or trade repository actually holds.

When something doesn’t look right, it goes to the right person before the deadline, and every check and decision is recorded along the way. That means reports that are right when they leave the building, with the evidence to prove it whenever someone asks.

2. On-demand remediation

However strong your controls are, historical issues will come to light. A regulatory review, a mapping change, a new interpretation of a field, a system migration or an acquisition can all uncover a batch of past reports that need fixing.

Traditionally, that kicks off a remediation project: weeks of scoping, spreadsheets, manual analysis and often external consultants, all before a single correction goes out.

We think it should be much simpler. RegAssure Back Reporting finds historical errors across the affected population, works out what each correction should be and generates it automatically, whether that’s a cancellation, a new report, a correction or an error report, along with back reporting files ready to submit. Because it tracks how every trade has been reported over time, each correction starts from the right place. The result is remediation you can run on demand, for historical and ongoing back reporting alike, scoped to the actual issue rather than turned into a costly project that competes for budget and time.

Breach management then follows each issue from the moment it’s found to the moment it’s closed, with a full audit trail to support breach notifications and conversations with regulators.

3. Agentic AI, governed by design

There’s a lot of noise about AI right now. In regulatory reporting, we believe it only earns its place if it’s explainable, controlled and auditable. That belief shaped RegAssure AI, our multi-agent regulatory assurance platform, which is live today.

This includes RIVA (Reg-X Intelligent Validation & Automation), our AI agent designed to support intelligent validation, analysis and automation across regulatory reporting processes.

Instead of one general-purpose AI, RegAssure AI uses six specialist agents, each responsible for a clear part of the reporting lifecycle:

  • Accuracy Agent validates reported fields against regulatory requirements and runs data quality testing.
  • Completeness Agent reconciles the trade population across trading systems, OMS, middle and back office, and ARM or trade repository data.
  • Rules Agent generates and updates regulatory rules, maintaining a rules library that combines pre-built and adaptive logic.
  • Exception Agent classifies breaks and drives them through a structured remediation workflow.
  • Remediation Agent applies fixes and reconstructs the correct reported state.
  • Exploration Agent lets users explore their data and ask regulatory questions directly.

The agents work across historical reported data, trading and order management records and reference data, producing validated reports, back reporting files and audit-ready datasets. Because RegAssure AI sits independently of upstream systems, firms don’t need to re-engineer anything to use it. And it keeps learning, from regulatory updates and from the fixes teams record in their own issue tracking, so every issue resolved makes the next check sharper.

Just as importantly, governance is built in from day one:

  • Human in the loop. Agents analyse, recommend and prepare; people review and approve what is submitted.
  • Field-level audit trail. Every change is recorded as a field-level difference against the original report.
  • Trade state management. A complete history of each trade’s reported state supports every correction and every regulator query.
  • Explainability. Agent outputs show the data relied on and the rule applied.
  • Isolated and secure. RegAssure AI runs without internet access, within Reg-X’s SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified environment.

In short, it’s AI that makes reporting teams faster and more scalable without asking anyone to give up control or transparency.

What this means for our clients

Put simply: fewer errors reaching the regulator, remediation you can run when you need it rather than as a multi-month programme, stronger evidence when supervisors or internal audit come asking, and reporting teams who can spend their time on judgement calls instead of manual investigation.

Looking ahead

This recognition belongs to the whole Reg-X team, and to the clients and partners who keep pushing us to raise the bar. Thank you. We’ll keep building around one simple idea: reporting should be right the first time, easy to fix when it isn’t, and backed by evidence every step of the way.
